About
Anastasia graduated with a BA in Archaeology (2001), a BA in History (2004) and an MA in Byzantine Art and Archaeology (2005) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She has worked in several excavations, mainly in Northern Greece and research projects involving ethnographic research, documentation and digitization. In 2005-06, she completed an MA in Public Archaeology in the Institute of Archaeology (UCL) and she is currently undertaking an PhD focusing on the development of Greek archaeology in relation to local communities and the public.
Her research interests include public and community archaeology, state archaeology, archaeological resources management, history of archaeology, local communities, Greece, national identity and cultural heritage.
