Faculty Member, Eastman Dental Institute

clinical trials coordinator

About

I now work in the Eastman Dental Hospital/Institute which is the largest postgraduate dental school in Europe with a reputation as one of the world’s leading academic centres for dentistry. I work as a clinical trials coordinator in the Periodontology Department. Before this i was also at UCL working in the nutrition group within the Institute of Child Health.
Prior to this I worked in the nutrition unit at the University of Reading in Berkshire, UK. My BSc and PhD degrees were in microbiology, my thesis was about how bacteria particularly probiotics use different mechanisms to inhibit pathogens in the gut. I then worked on a human study looking at the prebiotic effect of wholegrain cereals, followed by a nutrigenetics study which examined the combined impact of common single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and chronic dietary fat composition on lipoprotein metabolism.
Thanks for reading this and best wishes.
