About
I am interested in the functioning and management of ecological systems. My research spans both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in North America, Northern Europe and South Africa but has more recently come to focus on lotic ecology in temperate areas. I am particularly interested in aquatic invertebrate zoology, hyporheic zone processes and the restoration of freshwater systems. My doctoral research focuses on the hyporheic zone, specifically investigating the distribution of hypogean invertebrate species throughout a lowland chalk catchment in Southern England against environmental gradients of flow and water quality.
