About

I am the County Archaeologist of Surrey and a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. I am also an elected trustee of the Council for British Archaeology (CBA).

Prior to these positions I held lectureships at the University of Flinders (Adelaide) and at Cardiff University. I have also worked as a visiting lecturer at the University of Bristol and as an archaeological tutor at the University of Southampton, as well as a freelance archaeological consultant.

I am a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and a Member of the Institute for Archaeologists. I have a BA in Archaeology and History (1997), an MA in Maritime Archaeology (1999) and a PhD in Archaeology (2003), all from the University of Southampton.

I work mainly on issues of cultural resource management, law and ethics, making forays into postmedieval and medieval archaeology and art history when possible.
