Sarah Marks holds an MA in the History of Medicine, an MRes in East European Studies and a BA in History from University College London. She has previously worked as a Research Associate at The Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at UCL, and as a Visiting Lecturer at St Mary's University College. She is currently working towards a PhD on the history of psychiatry in East Germany and Czechoslovakia between 1948 and 1989 at the Centre for the History of the Psychological Disciplines at UCL Psychology.

Sarah also continues with her work on the intellectual, social and political aspects of cognitive and behavioural psychotherapies in  Britain since 1950.
